This week we will be having slightly different English lessons. We will be exploring and enjoying a variety of authors and their books through the Hay Festival Digital Programme. We look forward to hearing which books you would like to try next!
Each day, from 8am onwards, you can see two primary authors introduced by Konnie Huq. These events will be available to watch again on Hay Player and you can access teaching materials to support learning before, during and after the festival. Though we will set an activity linked to one author, please feel free to watch both videos and check out the activities in other year groups.
Videos from previous years are also available for you to enjoy!
Attempt an Illustrating World Record on Thursday!
Rob Biddulph has decided to attempt to host the world’s largest online art lesson. We want to bring together thousands of people, of all ages, from households across the world and teach them how to draw the same picture at the same time. It will be an official Guinness World Records title attempt so we have the chance to make history... from home. The project is also raising money to support the fight against COVID-19 (we already have companies pledging £10 per employee that attends). In order the get the record, we need over 10,000 people to actively participate in the lesson, which means we will need a lot more than 10,000 people to register (we know that not everyone who registers will actually attend). So…please register NOW at www.artworldrecords.com and attend the lesson on the 21 May at 4:00-4:30pm BST. Thank you.
