SENDCo: Mrs I Barkworth

Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities are supported first and foremost by their class teacher through Quality First Teaching. Our specialist staff at the school include our SENDCo, ASD Lead Teacher, ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) and Play Therapist. 

 

The school also has many experienced Keyworkers and Teaching Assistants who support children with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and additional needs. The school also has links with Freemantles, a specialist school for children with ASD, and we work closely with other professional teams, including Educational Psychology, STIPs (Specialist Teachers for Inclusive Practice) and SALT (Speech and Language Therapists).

 

As a SEND team, we work alongside parents and other professionals to ensure each child has effective and nurturing support in place.
