Welcome to St Ignatius Catholic Primary School

Hello and a huge welcome to you all.

I am the very proud Headteacher of St Ignatius Catholic Primary School and I extend a warm welcome to all those who look through our website and come to meet our very special Catholic community.

St Ignatius is a thriving, diverse Catholic Primary School in Sunbury-on -Thames. We are a two-form entry school within the Diocese of Westminster, providing a  high quality education for children from Reception to Year 6. We primarily serve the parishes of St Ignatius, Sunbury and St John Fisher, Shepperton, although we have many children from other local parishes. We belong to the Ascension Catholic Academy Trust (ACAT) which is made up of five other local Catholic primary and secondary schools. This partnership enables us to further drive for excellence for our children.

We are a school that is underpinned by Gospel values and we aim every day to live these out in our thoughts, words and actions. Adults and pupils alike, we stand together to learn and serve one another every day. We have the highest expectations both academically and for personal development. St Ignatius is ‘visible’ in the day to day running of our school, as our inspiration to educate, serve and unite with others. 

We believe in the importance of developing the ‘whole person’ and helping every child to achieve their God- given potential so that they are fully prepared for life. It is our belief that we should celebrate everyone’s uniqueness and we strive to seek out, develop and enhance this in every child.

Jesus said to his disciples, “Let the little children come to me.” We too believe that children are precious and with love, encouragement and excellent relationships, they can achieve anything. The sky is the limit! To that end, we work to serve the children, staff, parents and parish of St Ignatius to the very best of our ability, every single day.

The word ‘vocation’ means ‘calling’ and we feel privileged to be part of this wonderful vocation and to work closely with parents in the formation of every child.

Our curriculum sets the highest of expectations for our children and is broad, rigorous, engaging and memorable. We adapt learning to meet the interests and needs of our children and this is a continuous endeavour. St Ignatius children deserve only the very best.
